Camel Trip

We made a camel trip during our 2nd weekend off. It was an astonishing experience, in the middle of the desert.

 Ice skating

It was great, ice- skating in Israel seems like no option but we did like it in the Ice Mall.

Many young people gather together to have some practical training .

Desert hiking in Ramon Mitzpe

I moved to Ramon Mitzpe for 2 weeks. Due to an accident I had to stay 2 weeks out of tropical Red Sea Water.  Mainly desert hikes were on the shedule during free time.

I met some other car - travellers in the desert ..

Bird park Eilat

Wonderfull place for migration of birds... flocks from Norhtern Europe like Siberia etc. is flying over ...

Tasks for volunteers

• General maintenance
• Beach cleaning
• Beach observations
• Inform visitors about the beach rules (swimming areas, use of snorkeling gear, etc.)
• Water buoy maintenance
• Assisting park rangers

A typical day :

Wake up early and be ready to start working around 9:00am.  You will help the rangers prepare the beach in the morning and then start with a special project.  Your day will finish at around 2:30pm, leaving you plenty of free time to enjoy the beach, snorkel, scuba dive or take a break from the heat.  

Snorkeling Guide

Other duty was to be the snorkel guide. Bringing students from 1 side of the reserve to the other side in a safe way , with mask and snorkel.

Fish Identification 

I helped the Marine Biologists with providing photomaterials.

The biodiversity is incredible with over 1100 species to encounter of tropical fish. Many are related with the indo-pacific region, but espiacially in this regioins the abundance is numerous.

Butterfly fish, Great barracuda, Angelfish, Damselfish, Sergeant Major, .... endless is the list.

Jerusalem was believed to be the centre of the world, one strategic connection of trade and interaction between Asia, Africa and Europe.

The alternative project - Ramon Mitzpe

After a day off I hade a severe injury on left foot, I won't show U the pictures. I'll save u the pictures.

The only solution was to be transferred to another project. With 7 stitches in our foot U cant go swimming and working in tropical Red Sea waters ...

... what about volunteering in Ramon Mitzpe with 200 Alpacas ? That was the solution. Feeding them, helping saddling the horses, cleaning B& B's, ...

Dolphin Snorkeling

I tried several times to snorkel or dive with dolphins.
Well u know, at least this time I had the chance ! Wild animals , not afraid to get really close to us!
In the mesh is a hole but these guys are fed so regulary ... they always return you know

The like to come back to have lunch, although they can move completely freely around.
